The use of data is a core element of our collective impact approach.  We collect and learn from data so that we can openly share information and adapt our strategies in response to an ever changing environment.  Our partnerships are sustained by a commitment to use meaningful, credible and useful qualitative and quantitative data for continuous learning and strategic refinement.

OUR GOAL

Wilson Forward is guided by a vision where students learn, teachers thrive, parents engage, and residents contribute to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. This approach to education develops residents who are thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners, prepared to tackle our society’s greatest challenges and proud to call Wilson County their home.

GRADUATION RATE

The North Carolina Four-Year Cohort Graduation Rate reflects the percentage of ninth graders (their cohort) who graduated from high school four years later.

CHILDREN HELD BACK IN KINDERGARTEN

The percentage of children held back in kindergarten reflect the number of children held back in kindergarten by the North Carolina Early Care and Education Data Repository.

GRADE 3-8 GRADE LEVEL PROFICIENCY

North Carolina public school students in grades 3, 5, and 8 are required to meet statewide standards for promotion in addition to local promotion requirements.

CHILDREN HELD BACK IN FIRST GRADE

The percentage of children held back in first grade reflect the number of children held back in first grade by the North Carolina Early Care and Education Data Repository.

ACT PROFICIENCY

The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement test consisting of four separate exams in English, reading, mathematics, and science as well as an optional writing assessment. The ACT is scored on a scale of 1 to 36 with 36 being the highest possible composite score.

AVERAGE SAT SCORES

The SAT focuses on the knowledge, skills, and understandings that research has identified as most important for college and career readiness and success. There are three components: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, Math, and Essay (optional). The total scale score ranges from 400-1600.

EOC PROFICIENCY

Students enrolled in English II, Math I, and Biology must complete state End-of-Course (EOC) assessments at the conclusion of each course.
